Very Early Felling Axe
A very early long socketed felling axe with an 8" edge. Overall 12 1/2" deep bby 9 1/4 high. 1 3/4" of layed on steel left.

Dutch carpenter Axe
A mid-eighteenth century dutch carpenters paring axe with 6" edge and faceted socket, with the small decorative nib present on most of the early dutch edge tools from this period.

Early Cooper's Side Axe
A very early L/H side axe with 12" edge. Unusual form and age look. The handle on those had to be about 10" long. The laid on steel is clearly visible.

Large Paring Axe
A very large European R/H paring axe with a 14 3/4" edge! There is lots of steel left in the blade, but so old there is overall pitting .The blade is slightly curved along its edge as for fine paring work. Fitted with a 29" oak handle. This is a very early shape of blade that could be German or Austrian by the slanted shape of the eye typical of these countries.
